We pride ourselves on collaborating closely with our customers’ commercial and technology teams to develop contaminant management solutions that integrate cutting-edge technologies, innovative products, advanced testing, and unmatched services. With our global resources, we can easily propagate these solutions from one facility to another, benefiting oil and gas companies worldwide and fostering improved operational metrics that drive sustainability and boost profits.

Mountleigh continually produces innovative contaminant management solutions for an ever-changing industry landscape and an environmentally conscious world.

“The contaminant dictates the method of filtration.”

In oil & gas applications, contaminants come in a wide variety of forms. We believe that proper filtration shouldn’t be solved by just one type of equipment or cartridge style. That is why we have a variety of filter housings and cartridges to handle even the most trying of contaminant removal challenges.

Different Styles of Filter Cartridges (Surface and Depth)

At Mountleigh, we don’t want to just offer our customers a product. We want to partner with our customers to understand their contaminant challenges and provide valuable solutions to save them money, improve their process performance and reduce environmental impact.

OUR FILTRATION SOLUTIONS

Our filtration solutions to contaminant issues include filter housings and aftermarket cartridges such as gas coalescers, dry gas filters, gas filter-separators, gas scrubbers, fuel/water separators and liquid filters. Aftermarket cartridges can also be built to retrofit competitor filter housing. We also offer additional solutions which includes: oily water separators, filtration systems, sewage treatment units, electronic sensors for particle measurement and coke removal units for ethylene plants.

LIQUID ADSORPTION USING XTREAMSORB

XTREAMSORB is a two-stage filter adsorber utilizing a combination of outer PEACH filter media and an inner porous extruded carbon block. The activated carbon block maximizes hydrocarbon removal efficiency through extended surface area and eliminates carbon fines into the fluid stream. The PEACH technology filters particulate and absorbs hydrocarbons, extending the on-stream life of the carbon block it encases.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

OPTIMIZE GLYCOL RECIRCULATION FILTRATION DESIGN WITH FEWER VESSELS

Natural Gas Dehydration Filtration Solution

XTREAMSORB – DOING THE WORK OF THREE VESSELS

Process purification is being revolutionized by eliminating the need of the pre and post carbon particulate vessels. The carbon block technology purifies the process in a single pass and does not release carbon fines into the downstream process. Thus, removing the need for a post carbon particulate vessel.

XtreamSorb, coupled with having a higher flow capacity and a smaller footprint than traditional carbon canisters, is sure to decrease overall capex costs and footprint compared to traditional systems.

IMPROVE RELIABILITY with PEACH Gemini PuraSep 2

The PEACH Gemini PuraSep 2 is a horizontal gas filter-coalescer that provides superior performance in a remarkable trouble-free design. It is widely used for protecting critical equipment from solid and liquid contaminants that can cause damage and costly repairs. The Gemini is a proven winner in the field, doing the work of a gas filter-separator and vertical gas coalescer combined, by delivering ultra-clean gas with high efficiency removal of solid and liquid contaminants, while effectively handling higher inlet solids and liquid loads than conventional gas coalescers.

“DOING THE WORK OF A GAS FILTER-SEPARATOR AND VERTICAL GAS COALESCER COMBINED”

“HIGH EFFICIENCY REMOVAL OF SOLIDS AND AEROSOLIZED LIQUID CONTAMINANTS 0.3 MICRON AND LARGER”

It can lower capital investment spend by eliminating the need to buy two pieces of equipment in instances where a gas filter-separator is required to protect a gas vertical coalescer from becoming plugged with solid contaminant.

FAQs About Process Fluid Filtration and Separation

Process fluid filtration and separation are crucial for removing impurities, particulates, and contaminants from fluids used in oil and gas operations. This is vital for maintaining equipment reliability, process efficiency, and product quality.

The choice of filter media is critical in achieving the desired filtration efficiency and lifespan. The contaminant dictates the method of filtration; therefore, Different applications may require media with specific properties such as pore size, chemical resistance, and temperature tolerance.

When considering purification equipment, coalescing filters are vital for the cost effective operation of any compressed air system, regardless of the type of compressor installed. A purification system will normally consist of two coalescing filters installed in series to remove water aerosols, oil aerosols, atmospheric particulate, micro-organisms, rust and pipescale.

Water vapor is water in a gaseous form and will pass through water separators and coalescing filters just as easy as the compressed air. Water vapor is therefore removed from compressed air using a dryer. The water vapor removal efficiency of a dryer (its performance) is expressed as a Pressure Dewpoint or PDP.

Dry particulate filters provide identical particulate removal performance to the equivalent grade coalescing filter. Relying on mechanical filtration techniques, high efficiency dry particulate filters can provide particle reduction down to 0.01 micron with a removal efficiency of 99.9999%. When coupled with a -40°F Pressure Dewpoint, to inhibit and control the growth of micro-organisms, they can provide significant reduction of microbiological contaminants.

Absolute (100%) removal of solid particulates and micro-organisms is performed by a sieve retention or membrane filter. They are often referred to as sterile air filters as they also provide sterilized compressed air. Filter housings are manufactured from stainless steel to allow for in-situ steam sterilisation of both the filter housing and element. It is important to note that the piping between the sterile filter and the application must also be cleaned and sterilized on a regular basis.
